Catherine started gliding in 1986 with the Adelaide University Gliding Club. She has flown over 65 different types of gliders ranging from a primary to the Nimbus.

In 1989, Cath started instructing, and in 2000, she started coaching. She was the State Coach for South Australia for a couple of years from 2002.

Cath represented Australia in 2003, flying at Omarama in New Zealand for the Tasman trophy.

Being very competitive, Cath convinced an instructor into flying with her in a competition when she had just 7 hours of gliding and was not yet solo. She started competing in Club Class in 1991. She also flies the Ventus in 15m class (taking turns with David) and will fly the Nimbus in Open Class this season.

Cath was the team manager for the Australian Women’s Team at Klix in Germany for the pre-worlds in 2005 and World Championships in 2006.

She has flown in the USA, UK, Germany, and NZ, holds a US Commercial Glider licence and flies powered aircraft including the towplane. About Me
